FDL County Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over Enforcement Results

Fond du Lac County law enforcement’s participation in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement effort resulted in 20 OWI arrests. Officers issued citations for 320 speeding violations, 72 operating after revocation or suspension violations, 11 traffic sign or traffic light violations, 6 safety belt violations, 5 drug arrests and two warrant arrests. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says deputies also were involved in two high-speed pursuits on Interstate 41 that led to three felony arrests, 2 for eluding an officer and one for possession of heroin with intent to deliver. “Sheriff’s deputies got into to two chases, high-speed chases during night shift when they were working Interstate 41 looking for drunk drivers and two of those vehicles fled, but both were taken into custody without injury or other incident and we got them off of the highways.” The campaign ran between December 13th and New Year’s Day. In addition the Sheriff’s Department, police departments from throughout the county participated in the effort.
