Adult Game Night – Lords of Waterdeep

Put your game face on and head over to the Ripon Public Library on Tuesday, May 15 at 6:00 P.M. for some kids-free, adult gaming. This month we will focus on games that use the worker placement game mechanic. Our feature game will be Lords of Waterdeep, in which players take on the role of the secret rulers of the city to recruite adventurers for quests that increase your influence over the city. Copies of Champions of Midgard, Robinson Crusoe, and Smash Up will also be available for participants to explore. What is worker placement games?As Board Game Geek describes it, “More precisely referred to as "action drafting", this mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Once that limit for an action is reached, it typically either becomes more expensive to take again or can no longer be taken for the remainder of the round.
