A Spectacular Fall Run and Walk for All Ages.  The Ninth Annual Reach the Peak Race will be held at Nordic Mountain Ski Resort on Saturday, October 8th. Registration forms are available at local businesses, online at www.reachthepeakrace.com and at www.active.com, search for Reach the Peak 2016. Race registration will also be held at Nordic Mt Ski Resort on Friday, October 7th 6-8pm during the Spaghetti Dinner, and on race day from 8-9:00am with the ThedaCare Kids Fun Run starting at 9:15am, the 15K race at 10am and the 5K walk/run at 10:15am. This year will also feature a more challenging 2 Mile Kids Run for boys and girls 10-15 years of age at 9:10am, and the Family Stroll is back again this year to encourage the entire family to participate on the one-mile kids course starting at 10:20am. Gather your group together to run the race or volunteer to help hydrate the runners, cheer them on and/or assist with race day preparations. Water station volunteer teams will be located at the two, four, six and eight mile markers on the 15K route which follows country roads to the peak of Mt. Morris before runners descend the hill to the finish line. Volunteer teams should sign up now to secure their spot on the course. Other volunteer opportunities include course clean up, marking and inspection on October 2nd from 1-4pm at Nordic Mt. A spaghetti supper, sponsored by Christiano’s, will be held from 6-8pm on Oct. 7th at Nordic Mt. Ski Resort. Volunteers will be needed to help serve and register participants the night before as well as to help with race prep the day of the race. Reach the Peak proceeds benefit students attending the Wautoma Area School District A+ After School Programs. Last year 397 students attended the A+ programs with nearly 250 students attending daily. Organizers invite After School parents, program advocates, running enthusiasts, community members, businesses and civic organizations to join the fun as a runner, walker or an event volunteer or sponsor.
