5/29/25 Names Released in Fatal FDL County Accident

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the three drivers involved in a fatal collision between an SUV, dump truck, and cement truck at County Highway B and County Highway K Tuesday afternoon. Seventy-nine-year-old Thomas Hechimovich of Fond du Lac died at the scene after his SUV turned in front of and collided with the dump truck, which then hit a cement truck. Sixty-seven-year-old Larry Potratz of Fond du Lac was driving the dump truck. EMS evaluated him at the scene for minor injuries. The cement truck was being driven by 61-year-old Kirk Thew of Van Dyne. He was not injured. Multiple 911 calls reported the accident at 2:10 Tuesday afternoon. Five people have died in traffic accidents in Fond du Lac County this year.
