5/26/25 Art Fairs and Pop-Up Workshop for Artists at Town Square
26 May 2025 News
Artists looking to take their work beyond the studio and into the marketplace can gain valuable insight this summer during a special one-night workshop hosted at Town Square. Art MidWisconsin will present Art Fairs and Pop-ups on Tuesday, June 17, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Town Square Community Center, 492 Hill Street, Green Lake.
Led by working artists Kate Salas and Kathleen Sletten, this 90-minute session is geared toward intermediate to advanced artists looking to professionally present and sell their work at fine art and craft fairs, artisan markets, and pop-up galleries. Topics include booth design, event etiquette, fair applications, tax and business basics, credit card processing, inventory and pricing strategies, branding, marketing, and how to select the right shows.
“Sharing your work at fairs and galleries is an exciting step—but one that comes with a learning curve,” said Kate Salas, a ceramic artist based in Ripon. “We’re here to help take some of the guesswork out of the process and set artists up for success.”
Kathleen Sletten, a Montello-based fine art photographer, added, “There’s a lot that goes into creating a professional and welcoming display. Whether you’re new to the circuit or ready to refine your setup, this workshop gives you practical tools to grow with confidence.”
Salas and Sletten both bring years of experience exhibiting at regional galleries and artisan markets, and each continues to produce and sell work throughout the Midwest. Their combined expertise offers a well-rounded perspective on what it takes to build a presence and reputation in the art fair world.
Art Fairs and Pop-ups is part of the summer programming offered by Art MidWisconsin and hosted at Town Square. The cost is $40, and a supply list will be provided upon registration.
