From Wayne Mausser

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for his third straight triple-double as the Milwaukee Bucks erased a 24-point, fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 110-103 on Tuesday night.

The Bucks won their fifth straight and snapped Minnesota’s five-game winning streak.

After trailing 95-71 with less than 10 minutes left, Milwaukee scored 23 straight points and eventually tied it 97-all on AJ Green’s 3-pointer with 3:36 left.

On the Timberwolves’ next possession, Milwaukee’s Kevin Porter Jr. and Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert got in a skirmish that resulted in technical fouls for both players. Milwaukee’s Gary Trent Jr., who was jawing at Gobert at the end of the confrontation, got an additional technical foul.

Anthony Edwards made a free throw to give Minnesota a 98-97 lead. But on Minnesota’s ensuing possession, Bobby Portis stole the ball from Edwards to set up a Porter dunk that put Milwaukee ahead for good and started an 8-0 run.

Porter ended up with 21 points. Portis had 18 points and 10 rebounds in his return from a 25-game suspension.

Edwards scored 25 points for Minnesota. Donte DiVincenzo added 24 and Naz Reid had 17.

Timberwolves: Minnesota blew an opportunity to help itself in the wide-open Western Conference race. The Timberwolves (48-35) entered Tuesday in a four-way tie for fifth place in the West, just a half-game behind fourth-place Denver.

Antetokounmpo continued his hot streak as he returned after missing one game with tendinopathy in his left shoulder. Antetokounmpo had 35 points, a career-high 20 assists and 17 rebounds in a 126-113 victory at Philadelphia. He followed that up by getting 36 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in a 121-115 overtime triumph at Miami.

Milwaukee outscored Minnesota 39-8 over the last 10 minutes.  On Thursday, the Bucks host New Orleans.

Brice Turang, Christian Yelich and William Contreras hit seventh-inning home runs, Jackson Churio doubled and tripled, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies 7-1 on Tuesday night.

Freddy Peralta (1-1) struck out six in five solid innings for Milwaukee, which has won six of seven after starting the season with four straight losses.

The Brewers jumped ahead with a four-run third inning against Kyle Freeland (0-2) that included three straight RBI singles. Brenton Doyle hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning for Colorado, which dropped to 2-8, 1-3 at home.

Turang chased Freeland with a one-out homer and after Churio grounded out Yelich and Contreras went back-to-back to make it a six-run lead.

The Brewers’ win spoiled the major league debut of Colorado outfielder Zac Veen.

Veen was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque, hit seventh and started in right field. He flew out and struck out in his first two at-bats but then got his first hit on a bunt single in the sixth inning. He popped out in the ninth.

The teams will play again Wednesday, with Milwaukee sending LHP Tyler Alexander (1-0, 2.00 ERA) to the mound while the Rockies counter with Antonio Senzatela (0-1, 0.00). First pitch is at 7:40 CDT.

Elsewhere in the NL Central Tuesday, the Cardinals beat the Pirates 5-3, the Cubs downed the Rangers 10-6 and the Reds shutout the Giants 1-0. The Brewers are second in the division behind the Cubs.

In the Midwest League the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers shutout the Quad Cities River Bandits 4-0. The teams play again tonight with the first pitch at 6:30.

Florida is No. 1 in the final Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball poll of the 2024-25 season after winning the national championship..

The Gators (36-4) received all 61 first-place votes Tuesday, the second year the AP has released its last poll after the completion of the NCAA Tournament. Todd Golden’s team beat Houston 65-63 on Monday night to clinch the program’s third national title and first since Billy Donovan’s repeat titles in 2006 and 2007.

The win also lifted Florida to the top spot in the poll for the first time since the last four polls of the 2013-14 season.

Houston (35-5) remained at No. 2 after its first title-game appearance since 1984, capping a season that saw Kelvin Sampson’s Cougars reach the Final Four for the second time in five seasons and beat Duke (35-4) in the national semifinals with a shocking late comeback.

Duke was third, followed by Auburn.  Tennessee was fifth and Alabama sixth, Tennessee was fifth and Alabama sixth and Maryland and Michigan rounded out the top ten.

Wisconsin dropped three spots to No. 16 after being bounced by BYU in the second round and Marquette did not make the top 25.

The Green Bay Packers kicked off their annual Tailgate Tour bright and early Tuesday morning, departing from Lambeau Field.

Over the next five days, Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy, along with a number of current and former Packers players, will travel across Wisconsin on a Packers-themed bus, making several stops along the way.

It’s a great opportunity for players, both past and present, to bond with each other while also connecting with fans around the state.

In addition to Murphy, this year’s Tailgate Tour includes defensive end Lukas Van Ness and tight end Tucker Kraft, as well as alumni players Ahman Green, Marco Rivera, John Michels, Tony Fisher and Bill Schroeder.

Running back Josh Jacobs and alum Jermichael Finley were originally scheduled to take part in the tour, but ultimately did not attend — resulting in some last-minute changes to the lineup.

The schedule for the Tailgate Tour is as follows:

  • Milwaukee on April 8
  • Madison on April 9
  • La Crosse on April 10
  • Wausau on April 11
  • Green Bay on April 12

Packers’ officials say the tour will also feature “a variety of surprise and planned visits” in each area.
