Nikola Jokic had 39 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in his first game back in nearly two weeks to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 127-117 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. The triple-double was Jokic’s NBA-leading 30th of the season. The reigning NBA MVP missed the team’s previous five games with an injured left ankle.
Brook Lopez had 26 points for the Bucks, marking the third consecutive game in which the veteran big man has finished with at least 20 points. Seven of the eight Milwaukee players who took the court Wednesday scored in double figures. The Bucks host New York on Friday.
Costa Rican authorities announced Tuesday that they will continue to investigate the cause of death of the teenage son of former New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner as they ruled out asphyxiation as the reason. The 14-year-old Miller Gardner died Friday while staying with his family at a hotel on the Manuel Antonio beach in Costa Rica’s Central Pacific.
CeeDee Lamb is going to be part of the NFL rulebook. The league made a rule change this week directly targeting the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and his signature nose wipe celebration. Making the gesture will now result in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty as a “violent gesture.” Lamb has been using the nose wipe since he was drafted in 2020 and has since become one of the top wide receivers in the NFL.
The Milwaukee Brewers open their season on the road against the New York Yankees this afternoon. The game is at 2:05 pm. The Brew Crew’s first game at home is next Monday against Kansas City. It will be the first season the Brewers didn’t have the legendary Bob Uecker in the radio broadcasting booth. Uecker died in January, he was 90 years old.
