The Green Bay Packers are making some moves in free agency. According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero the Packers are signing former Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs. It is reportedly a four-year, $48 million deal including $16 million guaranteed. Hobbs, who turns 26 years old this summer, has 3 career interceptions.
According to another report the Packers are signing San Francisco 49ers guard Aaron Banks. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport is reporting the Packers are signing Banks to a 4-year, $77 million deal.
And the addition will lead to a line dance, with Banks playing left guard and Elgton Jenkins moving to center, according to the Journal Sentinel’s Tom Silverstein. Jenkins played center in college at Mississippi State and has also played center in the NFL, including last year at home against the Lions when Josh Myers was injured.
In other free agency moves Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Sam Darnold is signing a three-year, $100.5 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets are reportedly signing former Bears and Stealers Quarterback Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million deal with $30 million guaranteed.
The Milwaukee Bucks were off yesterday after losing to Cleveland Sunday 112 to 100. They take on the Pacers at Indiana tonight at 6:30. The game will be carried on TNT.
In Cactus League play yesterday the Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Seattle Mariners 7 to 5 despite pounding out 12 hits. The Brew Crew is 7 and 9 in spring ball. This afternoon they play the Chicago Cubs at 3:05 pm.
