Milwaukee Bucks @ Cleveland Cavaliers
The Milwaukee Bucks still have yet to win a game this season against the top few teams in the Eastern Conference.
Even though the Bucks made some moves at the deadline and improved their roster, they still fell short to the league leading Cleveland Cavaliers, 112-100. With this loss, the Bucks are now 0-9 against the top three teams in the Eastern Conference with four of those losses coming at the hands of the Cavaliers.
After the game, Head Coach Doc Rivers said that the Bucks were good defensively to win the game, but their offense played subpar.
On offense, Milwaukee had just 17 assists and turned the ball over 18 times. Giannis Antetokounmpo said the part of the reason for this was that the Bucks weren’t playing downhill and instead were trying to pass the ball around from side-to-side. Another area that faltered for the Bucks was their 3-Point shooting as they shot only 9-31 (29%) from deep while the Cavaliers went 19-47 (40.4%).
During the 4th quarter, the Bucks were only down by 5, before the Cavaliers were able to go on a 13-0 run that made it 102-84 with 4 and a half minutes remaining. When asked what contributed to this 13-0 run, Kyle Kuzma responded by saying, “Not playing aggressive. Not being decisive. A little bit of overthinking. We were thinking about offense, this is a two-way sport, going back on defense. They had us running and attacking closeouts all night and I think that this is a pretty good lesson for us. Something that we kind of needed to play against and see.”
The Milwaukee Bucks (36-27) will continue their road trip by traveling to Indiana to face the Pacers (35-27), on Tuesday, March 11th.
