2/8/25 Fourth Man Sentenced for Ripon Overdose Death
8 February 2025 News
Fond du Lac County Judge Douglas Edelstein Friday sentenced 19-year-old Donavyn Mueller of Monroe to 10 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision on a first-degree reckless homicide charge. The conviction stems from the April 7th, 2023, fentanyl overdose death of an 18-year-old Ripon man. Three other men were previously sentenced for their roles in the death. The investigation showed the chain of delivery started with Donavyn Mueller, who became the target of the investigation. The fentanyl then went to Kyle Lamb who is now deceased, then to Joseph Schmidt Rehbein and Mason Springston, and ultimately to the victim. According to the criminal complaint the victim took a pill believed to be Percocet at a Ripon home and overdosed. He was taken from the residence and left on a sidewalk. The pill contained fentanyl. District Attorney Eric Toney complimented the Ripon Police Department on their investigation saying they did an exceptional job “to help the family receive justice by climbing three layers deep in the chain of delivery of this fentanyl death, which is rare.”
