2/1/25 FDL Man Pleads to Gang Related Shooting Death

A 19-year-old Fond du Lac man Friday pled guilty to first degree intentional homicide and seven other felony charges stemming from a shooting death at the Maplewood Commons Apartments in Fond du Lac on May 7th of 2023. A sentencing date hasn’t been scheduled yet for Antonio Johnston. Co-defendant Parise, Larry Jr. is scheduled for a jury trial in October. According to the criminal complaint the two were confronting someone at the Maplewood Commons Apartments and Tatyanna Zech who was taking out garbage was hit by gunfire. She died and several others were wounded in the gang-related shooting. The shooting took place near Pier Elementary School and Theisen Middle School. District Attorney Eric Toney says Johnston took responsibility for his role in the shooting that took the life of a young woman, who was loved by her family and friends, injured others, and caused a significant impact on the community.
