The NBA postponed Wednesday night’s game in New Orleans between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pelicans after a historic winter storm dumped about a foot of snow in the Big Easy.

Tuesday’s winter storm made road travel treacherous in a subtropical city with minimal snow-clearing equipment on hand.

The Milwaukee Bucks beat the weather by flying in Monday, a day earlier than usual, in the event that road conditions became safe enough to hold the game at the 18,000-seat, downtown Smoothie King Center.

But temperatures remained in the 30s on Wednesday, many main highways in the metro areas were closed by authorities and surface roads throughout town remained coated in ice.

The Bucks are scheduled to play in Miami on Thursday night.

Aaron Glenn is back in Gotham Green.

The New York Jets are hiring Glenn as the club’s 21st full-time head coach, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday, per sources informed of the situation.

The Jets later officially announced the news.

Following the Detroit Lions’ playoff exit, the Jets were Glenn’s first-person interview after meeting with multiple teams virtually during the hiring process. The former defensive coordinator also planned to meet with the New Orleans Saints regarding their open coaching position.

It’s a return to where it all started for the 52-year-old Glenn, a Gang Green first-round pick in 1994 out of Texas A&M. The cornerback spent eight seasons playing for the Jets, earning two Pro Bowl bids, before getting swiped by the Houston Texans in the 2002 expansion draft at age 30.

Following a 15-year NFL playing career, Glenn was away from football before the itch returned.

For Ben Johnson, 2025 was the time to make the leap from coordinator to head coach.

He found what he believes to be the ideal situation in Chicago, accepting the Bears’ top job earlier this week and with it, the expectation he’ll turn around a team in need of leadership.

The former Lions offensive coordinator will have to change residences, moving from Detroit to Chicago, but he won’t need to leave the NFC North. The familiarity of the division helped entice him to the Windy City, Johnson admitted during his introductory press conference on Wednesday.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts took his first step toward preparing to play the Washington Commanders in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, participating in Wednesday’s walkthrough on a limited basis.

Hurts spoke to reporters after practice and said he believed he was on track to play this Sunday.

“I’m progressing, taking it a day at a time,” Hurts said.

When asked if he thought he would be able to play at his usual level, he replied with more of a wait-and-see approach.

“Every game is different, so I just want to take it a day at a time and keep progressing,” Hurts said.

Earlier in the day, head coach Nick Sirianni also noted that rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, who was ruled out of this past Sunday’s Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Rams with a shoulder injury, would participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough. Like Hurts, Mitchell was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s session.
