Damian Lillard scored 30 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 points and 11 rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks capitalized on a fast start for the second straight night and trounced the Orlando Magic 122-93 on Wednesday.

The Bucks (22-17) passed Orlando (23-19) to take over fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks are 3-0 against the Magic, with the finale of the season series scheduled for March 8 at Milwaukee.

Milwaukee led 34-16 at the end of the first quarter and rolled to its most lopsided victory of the season. The Bucks were playing one night after racing to a 47-26 advantage in the opening period of a 130-115 victory over Sacramento that snapped the Kings’ seven-game win streak.

Paolo Banchero scored 22 points for Orlando.

Bucks guard Andre Jackson Jr. didn’t play in the second half after bruising a hip.

Magic: Five nights after losing 109-106 to the Bucks in a game that went down to the wire, the Magic never had a chance in this one due to their shooting woes. Orlando shot 34.7% from the field, the lowest percentage the Bucks have allowed in any game this season.

Bucks: One night after posting their highest point total of the season, the Bucks shot a season-high 62.5% while continually getting open looks in the paint.

Milwaukee scored 19 straight points in the first quarter to open a 27-9 lead. Lillard scored nine points during that spurt, including a 3-pointer from over 30 feet away.

Orlando went 12 of 46 while Milwaukee was 7 of 12 from 3-point range. According to Sportradar, the Bucks had the fewest 3-point attempts by a team in any NBA game this season.

Both teams play again Friday, with the Magic visiting the Boston Celtics and the Bucks hosting the Toronto Raptors.

The New York Jets have put in a request to speak with Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their head coach opening.

Albert Breer of SI.com is reporting it looks like the interview would be late this week.

Green Bay’s defense made strides in year one under Hafley with the unit finishing sixth in yards, and points allowed.

Hafley’s defense made taking the ball away a priority as well, finishing with 31 takeaways. That’s juts two behind Minnesota for the league lead.

The New Jersey native spent four years a head coach at Boston College before being hired by Matt LaFleur year.

Hafley also has NFL experience as an assistant with the Buccaneers and 49ers as well.

New York has cast a wide net thus far in their coaching search. They have already spoke to ten coaches in this hiring cycle.

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Westchester Knicks 114-110.

Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Tyler Smith led the Herd with 23 points off the bench while Henry Ellenson followed with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. James Akinjo also posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists off the bench.

The top scorers for the Westchester Knicks were T.J. Warren with 35 points and Donovan Williams with 31 points.

The Herd will head to Indiana to play the Mad Ants on Jan. 17 with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m. CST.

There is a new number one book on Amazon’s best-seller list, thanks to NFL player A.J. Brown.

The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver was spotted reading Jim Murphy’s “Inner Excellence: Train Your Mind for Extraordinary Performance and the Best Possible Life” on the sidelines during Sunday’s playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.

The book soon took the top spot on the Amazon trending list.

It turns out that Brown brings the book to every game. Sunday was just the first time cameras caught him reading it.

“I use it to refocus and lock in despite what may transpire in the game good or bad,” he said on X.

Some thought Brown was reading because he was frustrated.

“I wasn’t frustrated at all. I figured that’s what y’all probably thought,” he said. “Why do you always think I be frustrated? Dang. I like to read.”

Since the Eagles beat the Packers, Brown will have more reading time next Sunday when the Eagles host the Los Angeles Rams

Urban Meyer will join Nick Saban in the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class, and Michael Vick and Michael Strahan are among the former players who will be inducted.

The National Football Foundation announced Saban’s selection last week and the rest of the 18-player, four-coach class on Wednesday.

Included in the 2025 class is former Wisconsin star running back Montee Ball, who played for the Badgers from 2009-2012.

His prolific collegiate career averaged 104.9 rushing yards per game, en route to 5,140 total rushing yards — UW’s second-highest total in program history. Ball left Wisconsin as the NCAA record holder for career touchdowns (83) and career rushing touchdowns (77). In 2012, he won the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s best running back.

Ball was a second-round draft pick for the Denver Broncos who played two seasons in the NFL. Ball will be the 13th Badger player to be enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame.
