1/11/25 Oshkosh Human Trafficking Arrest

11 January 2025 News

Oshkosh Police Friday arrested a 32-year-old Texas man on human trafficking charges. A detective learned a woman was staying at a local hotel and was involved in human trafficking activities. An undercover officer met with her at the hotel, just after a man left the room. The man was approached and resisted efforts to detain him, but was arrested. He possessed a stolen firearm and illegal drugs. He had connections to Texas and Colorado, but notably, had no ties to Oshkosh or Wisconsin. He has an extensive criminal history. A search of the hotel room uncovered a second firearm and additional drugs. Investigators learned he had been forcing the female victim to participate in illegal activities against her will for several months. She was living in fear of the suspect. They traveled across multiple states, eventually ending up in Oshkosh. Police are working to reunite her with her family and to get the support she needs. The suspect faces felony charges including human trafficking, felon in possession of a firearm, and various counts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine trafficking. He is being held in the Winnebago County Jail. (Oshkosh Police Department photos).
