1/10/25 Oshkosh Man Arrested for Firearm Incident

10 January 2025 News

A 40-year-old Oshkosh man is facing charges for allegedly firing a gun inside a retail store that sells firearms this morning. Police say he left the scene in the 100 block of North Washburn Street but was located a short distance away and was taken into custody without incident. Investigators say he loaded a firearm and discharged it in the store causing property damage but no injuries. The retail store implements precautionary measures to secure their firearms, including trigger locks and a cable security system. The suspect managed to bypass those measures and fire the weapon. He’s been charged with endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Winnebago County Jail.
