The Packers and Lions are gearing up for their huge NFC North rivalry game tonight at Ford Field in Detroit.

Green Bay comes in at 9-3 while the Lions are 11-1, good for first place in the division, a game ahead of the 10-2 Minnesota Vikings.

The Lions beat the Packers in early November 24-14 in Green Bay.

Detroit can also clinch a spot in the playoffs with an 11th straight victory that would set a franchise record.  Both teams will play a third game in 12 days.

Meanwhile, Green Bay cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Corey Balentine are listed as out along with linebacker Edgerin Cooper and wide receiver Romeo Doubs.

The Lions listed tackle Taylor Decker, and defensive linemen Levi Onwuzurke, Josh Pascal and D.J. Reader as out.

The pregame starts at 5:00 with the kickoff at 7:15 and can be heard on FM 1023, The Bug.

Jalen Johnson had 23 points and 13 rebounds and the Atlanta Hawks halted Milwaukee’s winning streak at seven games, beating the Bucks 119-104 on Wednesday night.

De’Andre Hunter scored 20 points, Trae Young 17, Bogdan Bogdanovic 15, Onyeka Okongwu 13 and Zaccharie Risacher 12 as the Hawks extended their winning streak to five games. Clint Capela added 17 rebounds.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead Milwaukee. Damian Lillard added 25 points and Gary Trent Jr. had 11 points off the bench. Taurean Prince, the league’s leading 3-point shooter had seven points in the first quarter for Milwaukee, but didn’t score again until late in the fourth, finishing with 10 points

The Hawks improved to 12-11 while Milwaukee slipped to 11-10. The teams are neck-and-neck for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Bucks are at Boston on Friday.

Meanwhile, Khris Middleton took part in practice with the Milwaukee Bucks early Wednesday as the veteran forward continued his recovery from offseason surgery on both ankles.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers said he can understand if Middleton is frustrated as his missed his 21st straight game, this time against the Atlanta Hawks.

Rivers had said multiple times over the past few weeks that he and his staff thought the three-time All-Star was close to making his season debut. On Wednesday, he said that the situation is likely wearing on Middleton mentally at this point.

When healthy, the 33-year-old Middleton has shown the ability to be a key contributor, although injuries limited him to 55 games last season and 33 during the 2022-23 season.

Rivers said its obvious that Middleton, who has spent 11 of his 12-year NBA career with the Bucks and was a key cog on the 2021 team that captured its first NBA title in 50 years, is itching to get back on the court.

Keshon Gilbert matched his season high with 24 points and No. 6 Iowa State beat No. 5 Marquette 81-70 on Wednesday night.

Gilbert sustained a nose injury late in the game but returned to help the Cyclones (6-1) finish.

Joshua Jefferson had 15 points and 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Curtis Jones scored 14 points for his sixth consecutive game with double-digit points off the bench, and Dishon Jackson had 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.

Royce Parham led Marquette (6-1) with 17 points, while Kam Jones added 14 points on just 6-for-21 shooting from the field. Stevie Mitchell scored 13 points and Demarius Owens added 11 points for the Golden Eagles.

Marquette hosts No. 11 Wisconsin on Saturday.

On football’s National Signing Day, Neenah’s Grant Dean signed on the dotted line to play for the home-state Wisconsin Badgers. The #5 recruit in the state is the reigning FVA offensive and defensive player of the yar. He is expected to begin his college career at safety in Madison.

Meanwhile, the state’s top overall recruit, Notre Dame Academy’s James Flanigan is following in his father’s footsteps to play at the University of Notre Dame.
