GLENN GROTHMAN WINS SIXTH TERM IN CONGRESS
Congressman Glenn Grothman says he is grateful to voters for electing him to a sixth term on Tuesday. He says with former President Donald Trump being elected there will be a lot of work to do to fix some of the things done during President Joe Biden’s Administration. He feels the economy-specifically inflation and the crisis at the Southern Border were the top issues that appealed to voters. The federal lawmaker from Glenbeulah feels after President Biden stepped down from the campaign, Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz were weaker choices for the Democrats. Grothman says Tuesday was a strong showing for Republicans but he would have liked to see Eric Hovde defeat U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin.

RIDE UNITED
Fond du Lac County United Way Executive Director Amber Kilawee says one of their programs that emerged during COVID is the Ride United program. She says it was launched at the beginning of the pandemic as a way of getting people around to necessary medical or other appointments if transportation was a challenge for them. In the Fond du Lac area they have provided bus tokens, cab vouchers, and even gas cards for the program. She says it is available to those who use the cab company in Ripon. She says Ride United isn’t meant to take someone to work, but there are plenty of acceptable reasons such as a medical appointment, for a job interview, or for a physical needed for a job. She says cab vouchers are available at the Ripon Senior Activity Center for those who would like to use the program. Any churches, agencies, or groups that would like to become involved should call Kilawee at their office in Fond du Lac. Their phone number is 920-921-7010.
