10/22/24 Fire Destroys Town of Forest Home

Fire destroyed a home at W2171 Drager Lane in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Forest early this morning. A passerby called in the fire at 2:07 am reporting flames were forty to fifty feet high and starting to spread to other buildings on the property. A deputy arriving on the scene observed the home fully engulfed and other nearby buildings north of the home starting on fire. Twenty-two fire departments and ambulance services responded to the fire. Rick Kohlman owns the property. He wasn’t home at the time of the fire. The 6,000-square-foot home was a total loss. Several other buildings, including a detached garage with a vehicle inside were also total losses. Several other structures sustained heat damage. No one was hurt during the blaze. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
