10/21/24 Person of Interest Arrested in FDL Shooting

Fond du Lac Police have taken a 52-year-old Fond du Lac man into custody as a person of interest in a shooting that occurred in the city early Sunday morning. He was taken into custody without incident as he was leaving his residence. Detectives subsequently executed a search warrant in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue which also included a search warrant for a vehicle associated with the person of interest. Evidence of the shooting was located during the search. The man is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail. Charges of first-degree reckless endangering safety, first-degree reckless injury, battery, disorderly conduct and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping have been referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office. At 2:33 Sunday morning police and Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to the parking lot of Hopper Screen Printing and Embroidery and Fast Taco Restaurant on North Main Street for a report of a fight. Minutes later officers found a 24-year-old Fond du Lac man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his shoulder/arm area. The victim was taken to St. Agnes Hospital and flown to a trauma center. He is in stable condition.
