The Packers are off today, after winning at home against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday, 34-13. With the victory Green Bay improves to 4-2 on the season, tied with the Bears and behind the Lions 4-1 and the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings.
Sunday, Jordan Love threw four touchdown passes and an interception, when Bo Melton slipped while running his route. Two of those scoring passes went to Romeo Doubs. On day Love was 22 of 32 for 258 yards and was not sacked.
The Packers also rushed for 179 yards, led by Josh Jacobs who had 62 on 18 carries.
Defensively, the Packers continue producing plenty of takeaways. Xavier McKinney didn’t intercept a pass for the first time all season, but the Packers still recovered three fumbles. They have 17 takeaways — four more than anyone else., just one away from last 18 turnovers. The Packers outrushed the Cardinals 179-89. They’re averaging 167.2 yards rushing per game, second in the NFL to Baltimore’s 205.3. Green Bay has rushed for 1,003 yards this year, its most in the first six games of a season since 1963. The Packers punted just once all day.
The Packers stay home to face the AFC South-leading Texans (5-1) Sunday with the kickoff at noon.
In Monday Night Football the Bills scored on a late field goal to win in the Meadowlands 23-20 over the Jets, in a penalty filled game. Each team was penalized for 100 yards.
The Bills hit a late field goal and then held off Aaron Rodgers and the Jets on a windy night. The Jets missed two field goals.
The Bills Josh Allen completed 19 of 25 passes for 215 yards and two touch dcowns and scored once on the ground. Running back Ray Davis rushed for 97 yards on 20 carries.
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was 23-35 and two touchdowns, one of those a 52 yard Hail Mary pass to Alan Lazard that ended the first half and tied the game at twenty-all. He also had one pass picked off on the Jets final drive. Garrett Wilson caught the other touchdown pass and Breece Hall gained 113 yards on 18 carries as the Jets fall to 2-4 while the Bills improve to 4-2.
In the NLCS the Mets evened their series on the road against the Dodgers, 7-3, bouncing back from a 9-0 loss Sunday night. The Mets scored one run in the first and then erupted for 5 runs in the second and then their pitching preserved the win.
Francisco Lindor hit a solo homer in the first inning and then Mark Vientos hit a grand-slam in the second.
New York starter Sean Manaea went five innings, giving up three runs, all on Max Muncy’s 3 run homer in the 5th inning, and two hits. The Dodgers Ryan Brazier lasted just the first inning, giving up one run, and took the loss. Game three is Wednesday in New York.
In the ALCS the Yankees opened up the series with a 5-2 win over the Guardians, scoring three runs in the second inning and another in the 4th and the one in the 7th. Carlos Rodon picked up the win, scattering three hits and one run over six innings. Alex Cobb gave up three runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings to take the loss. Game two is tonight.
