9/27/24 Suspect Arrested for FDL House Fire

A 60-year-old man is in custody police and fire department officials in Fond du Lac suspect is responsible for an improvised incendiary device that started a house fire this past Monday. A Fond du Lac Police detective was able to identify the man as a person of interest with the help of the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation. He was taken into custody in Menasha Wednesday. A 16-year-old girl was injured during the fire at the duplex in the 200 block of Packer Street. The teen climbed out a second story window to escape the fire and fell.  She was taken to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee for injuries suffered in the fire and fall. She is in stable condition. There was heavy damage from fire, smoke, and water. An adjacent garage and vehicle were also damaged. The man is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple charges.
