8/3/24 Man Found Dead in Lake Winnebago

Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies, Town of Black Wolf EMS, and Oshkosh Ambulance responded to the Fahrney Boat Ramp on Lake Winnebago Friday night for a report of a dead man found floating in the water. Boaters had found the man. The boat ramp is at Kalbus’s Country Harbor Campgrounds. The man was brought to shore and worked on by EMS staff. The County Medical Examiner’s Office eventually pronounced him dead at the scene. An unattended boat was found in the lake and deputies brought it back to shore. Deputies and responders were dispatched to the boat ramp at 6:21 pm. The man’s name was not released pending notification of family members.
