12 August 2024 News

Searchers in Fond du Lac County were able to find a 74-year-old Milwaukee man within 90 minutes of when he was reported missing Sunday morning. Sheriff’s officials say the man was serving as a Scout Leader at the Long Lake Boy Scout Camp. A camp organizer reported him missing at 9:30 am. The man had last been seen at a camp gathering Saturday evening. He did not have a cellphone with him and suffers from Parkinson’s and other medical conditions. A ground search started at 10:18 am. A K9 officer with the Fond du Lac Police Department attempted to conduct a K9 track but was unsuccessful. The officer then used an aerial drone and conducted a grid pattern search of the area the man was last seen. The ground search included Sheriff’s deputies, the Eden Fire Department, Eden First Responders, Campbellsport Fire Department, Campbellsport First Responders, and Campbellsport Ambulance Service. At 10:55 am, the man was found in a densely wooded area about 160 yards from his cabin. He suffered minor injuries and appeared to be in a confused state. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for further evaluation.
