5 July 2024 News
GREEN LAKE, WI, — Children and teenagers are invited to unleash their inner artist at Town Square Community Center’s Art Camps this August. The camps are available for youth ages 8 to 12 and 13 to 18 years and will combine hands-on creativity with education.
The Art Camps will be held August 5 through 8 in the Town Square Makerspace. From 9am to 12pm, campers ages 8 to 12 years will learn about creative projects including paper making, abstract painting, decoupage, and more. Their artwork will be on display at the Green Lake Fine Arts Show August 10 and 11.
New this year, teenagers ages 13 to 18 years can attend the afternoon session of Art Camp from 1 to 4pm. Working closely with local artist Jennifer Aither, students will explore the endless possibilities of abstract art through various mediums, techniques, and styles. While no experience is needed, attendees are encouraged to be creative and passionate about art.
“I love how much Green Lake embraces and celebrates the arts,” said Aither. “It will be an amazing experience to work with teenagers at the Art Camp in August.”
The camp fees are $40 per student for the morning session and $50 for the afternoon. Register your child online at GreenLakeTownSquare.org/just-for-kids. The price includes the cost of all art supplies. Space is limited.
The camp precedes the 51st Annual Green Lake Fine Art Show on Saturday, August 10 from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, August 11 from 11am to 3pm. Revered as one of the Midwest’s most esteemed art shows, it will be held on the Town Square campus in downtown Green Lake.
