7/13/24 Shooting Incident in Mayville

Mayville Police say a 34-year-old Mayville man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday. Police responded to the 400 block of Henninger Street for a welfare check and encountered a man outside a residence. He went to his vehicle, retrieved an unknown item and ran inside the house. He then barricaded himself in the home. A short time later police heard a gunshot prompting a large police response. He was found dead inside the residence from an apparent self-inflicted injury. Mayville Police were assisted by Mayville EMS, the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Horicon, Iron Ridge, Juneau, and Theresa.
