6/5/24 FDL Woman Sentenced for Selling Alcohol to Teen Driver Involved in Fatal Accident

5 June 2024 News

The 28-year-old Fond du Lac convenience store clerk that sold alcohol to a teen involved in a double fatal accident has been sentenced.  Sanju Paudel of Fond du Lac pled “no contest” Tuesday to two counts of providing alcohol to a minor-resulting in death.  During an emotional hearing Fond du Lac County Judge Andrew Christenson sentenced her to 9 months in jail and 6 years of probation. She will no longer be able to sell alcohol or work in a job that engages in the sale of alcohol. Paudel sold 16-year-old Tommy Koenigs beer and rum on January 20th of 2023. Less than 12 hours later he and two other teens were involved in a vehicle crash on Golf Course Drive. The crash resulted in the deaths of Koenigs who was driving and a passenger 16-year-old Nevins Zoch. Koenigs was driving under the influence when the car he was driving crashed into a tree. District Attorney Eric Toney says no sentence can take away the family’s pain and there is no sentence that could remotely value the lives of Nevins Zoch and Tommy Koenigs.
