6/3/24 SWAT Call in FDL

3 June 2024 News

Fond du Lac Police Sunday night responded to a report of a man pointing a handgun at another person and threatening to kill him during an argument at an apartment complex on Donohue Court. The 44-year-old Fond du Lac man had a handgun and returned to his own apartment before officers arrived. Police set up a perimeter and began negotiating via phone with the man. He refused to exit the apartment and wouldn’t allow the 4 and 5-year-old children with him to leave either. SWAT teams responded and a little over three hours into the incident used an explosive technique to get into the apartment. Both children were rushed from the apartment. The man resisted efforts to take him into custody and a taser was deployed. There were no injuries. The man was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, felon in possession of a firearm, battery, and disorderly conduct.
