6/22/24 Woman Rescued SWAT Response in Rural Watertown

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies rescued a 36-year-old rural Watertown woman, a victim of domestic violence Friday evening from an address on County Highway Q in the town of Shields. She had suffered multiple lacerations and was turned over to Watertown paramedics for immediate treatment. She was taken to Aurora Medical Center in Summit and was reported in stable condition. Deputies secured the area and set up a perimeter around the home. The suspect, a 38-year-old rural Watertown man, barricaded himself inside the residence until 12:16 this morning when a Sheriff’s SWAT team entered the home and took him into custody. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Watertown Police Emergence Response Team, and equipment loaned and operated by the Fond du Lac Police Department.
