6/21/24 Teen Goes Over 100 Miles an Hour During FDL County Traffic Chase

21 June 2024 News

An 18-year-old Fond du Lac man is facing a knowingly fleeing or eluding an officer charge after going over 100 miles an hour on State Highway 23 to evade a traffic stop for speeding. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull the teen over near County Highway W in the Town of Forest shortly before 2 am this morning. Fond du Lac Police assisted in the pursuit when the suspect’s vehicle entered the city. The driver stopped at U.S. Highway 151 on State Highway 23 and was taken into custody during a high-risk traffic stop. He was not under the influence; however, an 18-year-old passenger was cited for a third underage drinking offense and minor transporting intoxicants in a vehicle. No one was injured during the pursuit. The pursuit lasted approximately 7.6 miles.
