6/16/24 Eight Rescued from Lake Winnebago

Eight people were safely rescued from Lake Winnebago Saturday afternoon after their boat began taking on water. The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office was contacted shortly before 4 pm about the situation. Boats from the Calumet and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Departments along with citizens in the area responded by rescuing 6 adults and 2 children. All eight were wearing life preservers. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office boat with assistance from the Calumet County Dive Team towed the boat to Brothertown Harbor. There were no injuries reported.
