HOUSE TAKES UP CENSUS BILL TODAY

Congress takes up a bill today that would require the census to include citizenship status and exclude noncitizens from the population count. It is estimated that 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the country during President Biden’s Administration that could be included in the 2030 census for congressional and federal representation. Wisconsin Congressman Glenn Grothman says including illegal immigrants in the count would give larger states more representation in Congress and as a result more federal funding. He says Wisconsin does have illegal immigrants but not as many as states with sanctuary cities. If the bill passes in the House it likely will face opposition in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
