4/9/24 Ripon Woman Killed in FDL County Accident

A 75-year-old Ripon woman is dead after a vehicle struck her car when it ran out of gas on State Highway 26 near Cattaraugus Road in the Town of Waupun last night. Another vehicle driven by a 73-year-old McFarland woman struck her vehicle after it ran out of gas in the southbound lane of State Highway 26. The Ripon woman was standing in front of her vehicle which moved forward when it was hit from behind and she was tossed onto the shoulder. The striking vehicle collided with her trapping her underneath. A Sheriff’s Sergeant and deputy were able to lift the front of the vehicle freeing her from underneath it. Life-saving measures were begun. Flight for Life flew the Ripon woman to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee where she died. The McFarland woman was wearing her seatbelt and did not suffer any injuries. The Sheriff’s Sergeant came upon the crash just before 10 o’clock last night. Waupun Fire Department, and Life Star Ambulance also responded to the scene.
