Two Fond du Lac residents have been bound over for trial that are suspected in the stabbing death and attempted robbery of 33-year-old Ashley Ann Calo of West Bend. Twenty-year-old Annaka Trudell and 21-year-old Dawson Miller were bound over for trial during a preliminary hearing in Fond du Lac County court Friday. Trudell is charged with first-degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon and being party to the crime of a conspiracy to commit armed robbery with use of force. Twenty-one-year-old Dawson Miller is charged with being party to a crime of conspiracy to commit felony murder, being party to a crime of armed robbery with use of force, and harboring or aiding a felon. According to the criminal complaint Trudell stabbed Calo with a kitchen-type knife during an argument in a fast-food parking lot. Trudell and Miller allegedly made a plan to steal drugs from Calo by pretending to want to buy pills from her. A witness who saw the argument and stabbing said Calo didn’t realize she had been stabbed and drove away from the scene. As she was driving she passed out. Police responded to that car crash on North Main Street on February 13th. An autopsy revealed she had been stabbed at least twice and once through the heart and lung.
