Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a traffic stop on I-41 near Winnebago Street in North Fond du Lac Wednesday night led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Shawano man and seizure of nearly a quarter pound of cocaine. The vehicle was pulled over for equipment and registration violations. The deputy believed the driver was involved in criminal activity and requested a K9 unit respond. K9 Ace performed an exterior sniff and detected the odor of drugs. Deputies recovered the cocaine, a smaller amount of marijuana, and multiple boxes of ammunition from the vehicle. The Shawano man has a prior drug conviction. He was arrested and taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail on drug charges. (Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s photo).
