The UW-Oshkosh woman’s basketball is yet again Sweet-16 bound, a common occurrence in the decade plus tenure under their head coach.

A number of different flight connections as the Titans head northeast, but nobody is complaining. When you get on a plane, that means you’re usually deep in the NCAA Tournament.

Brunswick, Maine is the last stop of this itinerary, set to face Smith College 4pm on Friday.

Each of his 12 seasons coach Brad Fischer has 20+ victories. 9 NCAA Tournament appearances, six of which UWO have gone all the way to the sweet-16.

With all the success this program has had in the Fischer tenure, they have yet to get to a final four. Two years ago went to the Elite-8,fell short to UW-Whitewater by a couple points.

The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, will partner with Winnebago County to host Marvel Super Hero™ Night on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 pm.

The night will feature special uniforms inspired by Captain America and a limited-edition Herd/Marvel comic book giveaway for the first 2,500 fans. The comic book portrays Captain America, Black Panther, and the Wisconsin Herd in the Marvel Universe. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned online at https://herdmarvel.givesmart.com now until March 23 at noon. Proceeds will benefit the Winnebago Area Literacy Council, which strengthens our community by developing and delivering free learner-centered literacy programs for adults and their families.

In addition to this theme night, the Wisconsin Herd and Winnebago County collaborated with all five libraries in the County to host a winter reading program in tandem with the Herd. The reading programs include Herd branded prizing such as bookmarks, posters, water bottles, tickets to the Herd Marvel game, and signed Marvel comics to encourage children to read. At the game, libraries will be in attendance so kids and adults can sign up for a library reading card. The jerseys will also feature the five Winnebago County libraries on the neckline.

“Jeopardy!” champion Ben Chan is being called up to the big leagues.

Chan is set to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the April 27 Milwaukee Brewers game, according to St. Norbert College, where Chan is a professor.

It won’t best the first time Chan has taken the mound. He threw out the first pitch at a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game last year.
