3/21/24 Mark Denkert Runs for Ripon Common Council
21 March 2024 News
The April 2nd election will decide which of two candidates will be elected to a seat on the Ripon Common Council in the 2nd Aldermanic District. For Mark Denkert it’s a second shot at Council. He narrowly missed out when his opponent, current Alderperson Terry Grunert, was appointed to fill a vacancy. Denkert works in the Information Technology Department at Accurate Controls. He says because that involves communication, he’s interested to see what the city will do with a new communications position. He also would like to see the city improve its own digital infrastructure use to keep residents abreast of what is going on. He believes there are opportunities for younger people in the city and plenty of reasons for them to stay. He says adequate and affordable housing will be important. He also feels a new Community Development Authority will have a role in economic development. Denkert says his main reason for running for the seat is to give back.
