Oshkosh Police found 80-year-old Tamasha Abwe this morning. She was reported missing Monday evening. A Silver Alert was issued for her because she is believed to have dementia or some other cognitive impairment. She had walked away from her residence. Police officers resumed a search at first light this morning searching an area on foot and an officer who recently graduated from the police academy and his Field Training Officer located her. She was found in the backyard of a residence in the 800 Block of Jackson Street. She was barefoot without a coat or any warm protective clothing. Tamasha had no visible injuries but was taken to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.

Oshkosh Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing person, 80-year-old Tamasha Abwe who was last seen around 5 pm Monday in Oshkosh. At 6 o’clock Monday evening police were dispatched to the 500 block of West Lincoln Avenue for a report of a missing person who had walked away from her residence. She does not go on walks by herself and her family believes she is unfamiliar with the area. She has walked away from the residence before. Tamasha is a black woman. She is 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 97 pounds. Tamasha has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue dress or nightgown, and could possibly be in possession of a mobility walker. Her preferred language is Swahili.
