The Bucks are back in action tonight at Memphis. Milwaukee is coming off at 123-97 loss to Miami on Tuesday night.

LJ Wells had 13 points in Northern Kentucky’s 58-57 win over Green Bay on Wednesday night.

Northern Kentucky’s Marques Warrick capped the scoring with five seconds left. Noah Reynolds missed a jumper to end it.

Wells also added nine rebounds for the Norse (14-12, 9-6 Horizon League). Keeyan Itejere added 12 points while finishing 5 of 6 from the floor, and they also had three steals. Randall Pettus II was 3-of-6 shooting (2 for 3 from 3-point range) to finish with 10 points.

Reynolds finished with 18 points and four assists for the Phoenix (17-10, 12-4) after missing Saturday’s game against Youngstown State with the flu.

Preston Ruedinger added 10 points for Green Bay. Foster Wonders also had eight points.

The Phoenix shot 2-17 from 3-point range in the first half and finished 7-32 (21.9%) from beyond the arc.  The loss broke the Phoenix’s five-game winning streak.

One person is dead, and 21 others were wounded by gunfire in a mass shooting at the end of the Chiefs‘ Super Bowl parade Wednesday, according to authorities.

Three people have been detained and are under investigation, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said during a news conference Wednesday evening.

Of the people wounded by gunfire, eight were in immediately life-threatening condition, seven were in life-threatening condition and six had minor injuries, Kansas City Fire Chief Ross Grundyson said at the news conference.

Kansas City radio station KKFI said one of its DJs, Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was the host of “Taste of Tejano,” died in the shooting. It was not immediately clear whether her death was the one announced by authorities.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said all the Chiefs players, coaches and staff were safe and accounted for, which was later confirmed by the team in a statement.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to the media Wednesday afternoon, saying, after sleeping on his decision, that he informed defensive coordinator Steve Wilks on Wednesday morning that Wilks will not return as the defensive coordinator in 2024.

Shanahan said he would look at candidates inside and outside the building. He said that he’d like to retain the system the players have been running in recent years, as that’s what they’ve gotten used to, but is open to running a different scheme if it makes sense.

The 49ers lost Super Bowl LVIII to the Kansas City Chiefs, 25-22, in a game where the defense played well for most of the game but folded late. The Chiefs scored only one touchdown in regulation, and it came off a muffed punt deep in San Francisco territory. It was even more impressive considering Dre Greenlaw suffered a torn Achilles midgame and Anik Armstead and Jaydon Hargrave were playing through injuries in the Super Bowl.

But on the final possession of regulation and the first series of overtime, the 49ers’ defense couldn’t stop Patrick Mahones from doing enough — a few times with his legs — to lead them to victory late.

Nick Bosa told reporters he thought the 49ers “could’ve been more prepared” for Mahomes as a runner in the read-option game, as the QB had two key conversions late. Wilks, 54, came on board with the 49ers prior to last season after he’d been the Carolina Panthers’ defensive passing game coordinator and secondary coach, as well as later serving as Carolina’s interim head coach after the firing of Matt Rhule. He also served as the Arizona Cardinals’ head coach for the 2018 season.

Caitlin Clark will try to make history Thursday night when the fourth ranked Iowa Hawkeye women host Michigan. The senior guard needs eight points to break the NCAA all-time scoring mark currently held by former Washington star Kelsey Plum. Clark does not view the chase as a burden and is trying to enjoy the moment, but stay focused on the game.

Clark says Plum has reached out and been very supportive as she chases the record and she has tried to keep it all in perspective.

Clark says she did not think about the possibility of breaking the record until well into this season and hopes the game is not stopped when she breaks the record. Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says there is nothing planned.

Clark was a prized recruit coming out of Dowling Catholic High School but Bluder admits she had no idea there was this kind of potential.

Tipoff is at 7:00 from Iowa City.
