RIPON — Four Ripon College students have been awarded certificates of merit from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival Region 3. The certificates honor the work they did as part of the running crew for the Department of Theatre’s fall 2023 production of “The Tin Woman.”
Gracie Luebke ’24 of Ripon, Wisconsin, served as stage manager; Angelina Bahr ’26 of Ellison Bay, Wisconsin, and Sophia Pieters ’27 of Middleton, Wisconsin, assistant stage managers; and Jasmine Greuel ’27 of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, sound and light board operator.
The certificates of merit are awarded based upon recommendation by the KC/ACTF respondent who attends the show at Ripon. The annual festival celebrates the future of the American theatre with student artists and faculty from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
“The award is recognition for excellence in theatre at the collegiate level,” says Professor of Theatre John Dalziel ’02. “It is obviously an honor and will help the students as they apply for jobs/graduate programs in the future, if they choose to pursue theatre as a career.
“The respondent was impressed with all of the running crew because of the amount of cues, timing and overall level of proficiency that the crew executed these throughout the show.”
