BEAVER DAM SOLAR PROJECT COMPLETE

Alliant Energy officials tell us the Beaver Dam Solar Project has been successfully completed. The 50 megawatt solar array in Dodge County spans 350 acres. It consists of nearly 120,000 solar panels and can produce enough energy to power approximately 13,000 homes annually.  While generating clean, zero-fuel-cost electricity for Alliant Energy customers, the Beaver Dam Solar Project also delivers long-term benefits to the community, landowners and local residents. Alliant Energy expects the site will generate an estimated $6 million in new shared revenue for the county and local communities over the next 30 years. Native low-growth grass seeding and over 45 acres of newly planted native pollinator habitat will enrich the soil, improve surface water quality and support wildlife habitat diversity, all of which benefits participating landowners, farmers and community residents.

ROSENDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL RFPS SOUGHT

The Rosendale-Brandon School District is seeking proposals for the sale and proposed use of the Rosendale Primary School property in Rosendale. District Superintendent Wayne Weber says the property is expected to be vacated in the fall of 2025. Interested parties can view the proposal and other documents on the District website. Proposals are due no later than noon on February 29th.  Weber says selling the property will allow the district to part with the building, but will also allow someone else in the community to repurpose it. Last April District voters approved a $35.7 million referendum for improvements to the Rosendale Intermediate School site and Laconia High School. When additions and renovations are completed to those two schools, the District will be able to consolidate from four campuses to two. The District expects to seek proposals for the Brandon School property in late winter.
