12/3/23 Green Lake County Seniors Have a Christmas Shopping Excursion Opportunity

GREEN LAKE, WI, — Green Lake County’s Aging and Long Term Care Unit, a division of the County’s Health and Human Services Department providing support services to those aged 55+, is excited to announce a new partnership with Green Lake Shuttle. Together they’ll work to provide individuals in the community with Free or Low Cost entertainment outings in the area, starting with a Christmas Shopping Outing to the Outlet Shoppes of Oshkosh on Tuesday, December 12th.
Individuals 55 and older, who’ve pre-registered, are invited to jump aboard the Green Lake Shuttle at 10am in the American Legion Parking Lot at 518 Water Street, Green Lake and will be transported to the Outlet Shoppes of Oshkosh, returning to the American Legion by 3pm.
“In beginning a relationship with Green Lake Shuttle, we’re excited to bring additional events, outings and ongoing socialization opportunities to individuals 55 and older in our community” Ryan Bamberg, Manager with Green Lake County’s Aging and Long Term Care Unit shared. ”This Christmas Shopping trip is only the beginning, with more regular outings planned in early 2024” Bamberg continued.
The event is free to attend and pre-registration is required due to seating being limited to 15 guests. Guests are welcome to bring their lunch onboard, or for those interested, there’ll be a break in the shopping at 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm, to head down the road to Mineshaft Restaurant. Individuals can purchase lunch separately at this popular venue.

It was always our hope for this transportation option to be an integral part of the community and really support not only the tourists enjoying our beautiful part of Wisconsin but those locally who are looking for opportunities to get out and engage with others in the area”
