11/4/23 Large Law Enforcement Presence in Lomira

4 November 2023 News

Students being bussed home from School in Lomira Friday afternoon were kept in place when law enforcement dealt with two suspects involved in a serious crime that occurred in the Appleton area. While trying to flee a state trooper they took refuge in a Lomira business. One of them was believed to be armed. As more troopers and Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies responded the two fled from the business, one taking the vehicle they arrived in and the other on foot. The suspect in the car nearly struck a trooper while leaving the scene. A search for the suspect on foot led to capture and the suspect was turned over to the State Patrol. Meanwhile deputies encountered a vehicle speeding south in the Village of Theresa. Thinking the suspect on foot may have stolen it there was a short pursuit. No charges are being brought by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office for the incident they were responding to, but the incident with the vehicle in the Village of Theresa is. The vehicle was described as a newer Ford Explorer, silver-colored. Anyone with information regarding that vehicle should call Lieutenant Brian Loos at 920-386-4117.
