The Green Bay Packers have traded CB Rasul Douglas (pending a physical) and a 2024 fifth-round draft pick to the Buffalo Bills for a 2024 third-round draft pick. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Tuesday.Douglas has played in 36 games with 28 starts in the regular season since joining the Packers in 2021, recording 160 tackles (137 solo), a sack, a QB hit, 10 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), 32 passes defensed, seven tackles for a loss and 14 tackles on special teams. He also started one postseason contest for Green Bay, posting four tackles (two solo) and a pass defensed.
The Packers have committed a league-high 7.4 penalties per game. Green Bay committed 11 penalties for 99 yards Sunday while falling for the fourth straight time in a 24-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. “Certainly the lack of disciplined play, that’s paramount,” coach Matt LaFleur said after Sunday’s game. “Because it doesn’t matter what you’re doing if we’re getting called for things. We’ve got to clean it up.”The Packers have committed 52 penalties through their first seven games of the season after producing 17-game totals of just 69 in 2021 and 89 last year.
“It’s our circumstance,” LaFleur said Monday. “It is what it is. The expectation is whoever’s wearing that ‘G’ on the side of their helmet that’s out on the field, is that we go execute at a championship level, and we’re just … we’re not there.”The Texas Rangers took a commanding 3-1 lead in the World Series Tuesday night over the Diamondbacks 11-7. Texas scored 5 runs in the second and third innings to take a commanding 10-0 lead before Arizona mounted a comeback but came up short.
The E-backs scored a run in the 4th, 4 more in the 8th and 2 in the 9th to make it somewhat close.Corey Seager his his 6th home run of the postseason, a two-run shot in the second inning. It was his 19th postseason home run, 6th on the all-time list. Marcus Semien and Jonah Heim also homered. Starting pitcher Andrew Heaney went 5 innings, giving up one run on four hits and picked up the win.
Lourdes Gurriel hit a 3-run homer in the 8th inning for Arizona. Starting pitcher Joe Mantiply took the loss, his first of the postseason.
The Rangers can wrap it up tonight as they send Nathan Eovaldi against the Diamondbacks Zac Gallen. First pitch is at 7:03 CDT.
The Raiders weren’t buyers or sellers at the trade deadline, but they did make a pivotal decision for the franchise’s future late Tuesday night.
Las Vegas has fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler, owner Mark Davis announced in a statement.
Las Vegas later named linebackers coach Antonio Pierce to the role of interim head coach. Pierce is in just his second year coaching at the NFL level, but he is a well-respected presence and former Pro Bowler, having played nine seasons at LB split between Washington and the New York Giants. He’ll make his head coaching debut Sunday against the team he won a Super Bowl with, the Giants. The Raiders also announced Champ Kelly, currently in his second season as the team’s assistant GM, as interim general manager. Kelly previously spent time in personnel and scouting with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos.
In addition to announcing Pierce and Kelly’s new roles, the Raiders underscored that they would undergo comprehensive searches for a new full-time head coach and GM once the 2023 season is complete.
The Milwaukee Bucks are back in action tonight at Toronto. The Bucks are 2-1 while the Raptors are 1-3.

In division 2, Xavier seeks a repeat. They picked up the program’s first gold ball last year, and followed that up with a 43-3 campaign to reach the Resch again. They are the top seed and will face Rice Lake in semifinal action Friday.
Howards Grove will play in Division 3, while the Kimberly boys are at the WIAA State Tournament as well.
