FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Mercury Racing, a division of Brunswick Corporation and Fond du Lac, Wis.-based global provider of high-performance marine propulsion systems, will host the Midwest Challenge Powerboat Race Weekend on Friday, Aug. 11, through Sunday, Aug. 13, in Sheboygan, Wis.
The inaugural event is part of the Mercury Racing 50th Anniversary and features two series of powerboat races competing in the same city on the same weekend for the first time ever. The event is family-friendly and free to attend, with VIP upgrades available for purchase. The Midwest Challenge will feature top categories of powerboat racing, with more than 40 teams from around the world, including Australia, Italy, Sweden, Canada and Norway, expected to participate. The three-day event includes a block party with up-close boat viewing and live music from Past Curfew at City Green on Friday, while powerboat testing, qualifying, and racing is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
