The Brewers are back in action tonight in Los Angeles against the Angles. Milwaukee is coming off a three-game sweep of the White Sox in Chicago over the weekend.
Tonight the Brewers will send Adrian Houser (4-3, 4:38 ERA) to the mound against another right-hander Bo Miller (6-2, 3.89 ERA). First pitch is at 9:10 CDT.
In the NL Central Monday the Mets beat the Pirates 7-2 and the Cardinals downed the A’s 7-5. The Brewers lead the Cubs and the Reds by 3 ½ games in the division.
There were no games Monday in the Midwest League. The Timber Rattlers play at Cedar Rapids tonight with the first pitch at 6:35.
In game two of the Great Lakes West sub-divisional round of the Northwoods League Playoffs, the Green Bay Rockers defeated the Madison Mallards 5-4 in walk-off fashion, punching their ticket to the Great Lakes Championship Game which is set for Wednesday in either Traverse City or Kalamazoo.
The Packers continue to practice in preparation for Saturday’s home game against the New England Patriots.
Rookie cornerback Carrington Valentine continues to build off his interception and three pass break-ups in the preseason opener. Monday he intercepted a pass against Jordan Love to end practice. Jaire Alexander has been largely limited in practice the past few days with a groin issue. Meanwhile, Valentine takes advantage of his opportunity filling in for Alexander with the first team.
Alexander was able to take part in individual drills during practice on Monday. Meanwhile defensive lineman Kenny Clark was the lone addition to the list of “did not practice” or DNPs due to a back injury.
The Packers don’t practice today but have join practices with the Patriots on Wednesday and Thursday.
Despite the rain, dozens of Packers fans still made it out to hear remarks from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in person Monday as he visited Green Bay.
The Green Bay Packers made some last-minute changes due to the cool, rainy weather, moving an event with the commissioner indoors to the Johnsonville Tailgate Village, but the event remained open to the public.
Goodell recognized the community-wide effort to have Green Bay selected to host the 2025 NFL Draft. Several agencies had a big hand in securing the host bid, including tourism bureau Discover Green Bay.
Green Bay is the 14th city to host the NFL Draft, which is the league’s biggest off-season even
Goodell said it’s a perfect match for the city rich in football history.
“It’s a huge stage to show what your community is all about. I think everybody knows your love of football, but this is a chance to talk about the fact that you really do know how to do big events and you have a tremendous amount of pride in this community and you should,” Goodell said.
Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy spoke about the draft on behalf of the organization. Other speakers included Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach.

The Bulldogs received 60 of 63 first-place votes in the poll released Monday to easily outpoint No. 2 Michigan, which received two first-place votes and has its best preseason rankings since being No. 2 in 1991. The Wolverines’ Big Ten rival, Ohio State, is No. 3 with one first-place vote.
Two more Southeastern Conference teams join Georgia in the top five. Alabama is No. 4, the Crimson Tide’s lowest preseason ranking in more than a decade, and LSU starts at No. 5, its best preseason ranking since 2016.
The Bulldogs have won the last two national titles while going 29-2, but this will be only the second time in program history they have been preseason No. 1. The first was in 2008.
Rounding out the top 10 is Southern California at No. 6, which is the Trojans’ best preseason ranking since 2017, followed by Penn State, Florida State, Clemson and Washington.
The Seminoles are back in the preseason rankings for the first time since 2018, and in the top 10 for the first time since 2017.
Wisconsin begins the first season of the Luke Fickell era at No. 19.
