7/2/23 Town Square Art Gallery Features Fiber Artist Justine Heinrichs

2 July 2023 News

GREEN LAKE, WI,— The work of fiber artist Justine Heinrichs will be featured throughout the month of July in the Town Square Lobby Gallery. The gallery is located in the front lobby of the building and open to the public Monday through Friday 9 am – 5 pm and Saturday 9 am – 3 pm.

“My work explores the beauty in all things, real and imagined, human and animal,” Heinrichs states. “I find inspiration in the natural world.”

Heinrichs started her professional life as an orchestral musician in the Tulsa Philharmonic.  During her time with the Philharmonic, she pursued a career in teaching which continues to this day.  Her love of art started with drawing, sculpting, and painting, and eventually evolved into a passion for fiber art.

“Using fiber allows me to express nature using nature’s bounty,” Heinrichs says. “I love the organic, yet magical, nature of wool and the endless ways it can be manipulated.”

Heinrichs’s journey in fiber art all began with a tiny owl Woolpelt kit.  From there, her passion was born, focusing on wet and needle felting using wool and silk as her medium.  She creates everything from pet portraiture to wool painting to wool sculptures, and more.  Her artwork ranges from realistic to whimsical.

Town Square Community Center is devoted to showcasing local artists, and the Lobby Gallery is Green Lake’s popular showcase for the latest works of the area’s most outstanding artists.
