Fire Wednesday afternoon significantly damaged 2 apartment units, led to damage in four other units due to fire-fighting efforts, and damaged portions of a the roof of a 16-unit, 2-story apartment building in Waupun. No one was hurt during the blaze at the Parkview Apartments at 1106 Rock Avenue, but a cat needed medical attention. Waupun Fire Chief B. J. DeMaa says it appears the fire began on a second floor balcony but the investigation is continuing. The Waupun Fire Department was assisted at the scene by 15 other departments, Lifestar and Ripon Guardian Ambulance services, Waupun First Responders, Waupun Police, Waupun Utilities, Alliant Energy, and others. A Family Assistance Center was set up at the Waupun Senior Center for the 22 residents of the apartment building. The Red Cross was helping out 19 of those individuals.
