5/20/23 Names Released in FDL County Double Fatal Accident

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials have released the names of the two drivers killed in a head-on crash on State Highway 23 near Heinrich Road in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Lamartine early Thursday afternoon. The County’s Communications Center received multiple emergency calls about the crash. Sheriff’s officials say 19-year-old Grace Thull of Rosendale was heading east when she crossed over the center line and crashed head on into a westbound vehicle driven by 64-year-old Gary Wustrack of Ripon. Both died at the scene. No one else was in those vehicles. Witnesses told investigators the eastbound vehicle had crossed over the center line at least once before the crash. The accident is still under investigation but based on witness statements it is believed Thull may have been distracted by her cell phone. The accident was reported about 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon.
