3/31/23 Daniel Kelly Running for State Supreme Court
31 March 2023 News
Former State Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly says the difference between him and his opponent in the State Supreme Court race is the rule of law and personal politics. Kelly served on the court from 2016 to 2020 and is trying to get back on it. His opponent is Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz. Kelly says he is about upholding the rule of law and whether laws created by state legislature are up to constitutional muster. He says his opponent has a desire to use her own personal politics if she is elected to the court. He says it is important that the authority of the legislature and the court are kept separate. Kelly feels there is no room for politics on the court and the only time issues like abortion or gun control would matter to the court is if it is asked to rule on laws that are created out of those issues. Voters will have their say on the State Supreme Court Race next Tuesday.
