A suspected drug dealer was arrested after leading Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies, Rosendale Police, and the State Patrol on a 24 mile chase Tuesday evening. It started out as an attempted traffic stop for multiple equipment violations on State Highway 26 in the Town of Waupun. The pursuit went north and along the way the tires on the suspect’s vehicle were deflated by a device put out by Rosendale Police. But the vehicle continued north on State Highway 26 through the village and into Winnebago County. It eventually went into a ditch and became disabled. The suspect, a 26-year-old Oshkosh man, thought about running but changed his mind when he saw Sheriff’s K9 Rip. The dog also hit on the vehicle for narcotics. Deputies found a pound of suspected methamphetamine, 10 grams of suspected cocaine and a large sum of money in the suspect’s vehicle. He was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges stemming from the pursuit and drugs recovered in his vehicle. He is also being held on a felony warrant from Virginia for possession of dangerous drugs and is on probation and parole through the Wisconsin Corrections Department for drug-related offenses and felon in possession of a firearm.
